Vaud is a devised piece about an immigrant, Vee, who arrives in the big city and finds home in a small vaudeville theater, where she discovers glitz, joy, struggle, and grief. The stage serves as both the vaudeville theater's backstage and performance space. Red drapes evoke the theatre, frame the stage, and keep the floor open for various vaudeville acts, whereas the scrim can be pulled onstage towards a lighting tree to evoke a backstage wing.
